Credit Rating Agency: Impacts of Regulatory Changes

FICO assessment Agency: Impacts of Regulatory Changes How evaluating offices work, and late administrative changes. FICO assessment office is a privately owned business that is allocated to distinguish the financial soundness of organizations, people or different associations. It utilizes a lot of components to survey the capacity of the borrowers to reimburse their obligations. It is significantly founded on the borrowers dissolvability. The fundamental instruments appraised by the rating organization are the administration securities, corporate securities, stocks trade, civil securities and security insurances. These commitments to evaluate the financial soundness is given by the organizations particularly banks so as to offer credits to different business or organizations. The organizations have been practically speaking for a significant stretch since the twentieth century. The organizations have certain guidelines that administration its activities. This work investigates the exercises of FICO score organization how they work and sensible guidelines that have changed as of late (White, 2010). The fundamental reason for the rating organizations is to give the rating to organizations that issue obligations, which include Private Corporation and the national government and different types of government. The organization has end up being significant in the loaning, and the money related industry as data is for the financial specialists to request to get satisfactory remuneration for the hazard engaged with a specific venture is basic (White, 2010). Speculators consider the FICO score to help deal with the range. Lower rating means more noteworthy loaning hazard by a bank. With regards to the market slants, the financial specialists may loan at bigger rates in higher hazard to secure against the dangers therefore, having a general impact of raising the loaning rates. FICO score organization is additionally basic as the data they give are utilized to decide the enthusiasm to be charged on credits given or potential returns anticipated. Business with a low evaluating and high hazard would draw in high-financing cost while the high appraising and generally safe would pull in the low-loan fees. The financial specialist looks for such sentiments from the rating organizations so as to settle on suitable speculation choices. Ever, as from the earliest starting point of the twentieth century, three organizations, Fitch, Moody, and standard and poors were framed to assist the financial specialists with accessing the capacity of other individual have the option to reimburse credit or help given to the by such foundations. For Fetch, it had a novel trait of distributing its finding on the stock and bonds money related measurements. The norm and poor it had a similar methodology with respect to the Fitch Moodys organization yet was somewhat unique, as it was demonstrating its rating on the administration bonds. The organizations help such a large number of association and business to combine their benefit and activity subsequently improving loaning among the organizations (Pinto, 2006). Reliability, being the ability and eagerness to make full installment of obligation in required time, a few organizations because of money related compel can't have the option to make such duties. So as to decide the opportune obligation installment various variables are thought of, the money related hazard, industry hazard, business and dangers related with the board. This variables if not put into thought a business can't reimburse the obligation. With the factor set up, specific rules are utilized to evaluate the FICO assessment process (White, 2010). All together for any business to reimburse obligation, the endeavor ought to have the option to create adequate money to subsidize all its activity and still have the overabundance to be utilized for the reimbursement of the credit. What's more, the most significant is the capacity to reimburse the obligations in full inside the specified time happens is the thing that most FICO assessment the companys central matter of intrigue (Pinto, 2006). Certain variables are use in deciding the rating for organizations, these components considered can be gathered as either subjective or quantitative. These elements likewise rely upon the sort of business being referred to. Various organizations have various fundaments and the board structures. Nature of activities additionally denotes a significant factor. Business can succeed rapidly or perform ineffectively dependent on the territory it is arranged. The business where the organization works is likewise significant as certain enterprises pull in more hazard than others or have a fluctuating level of prerequisites to run. The degree of market strength as it gives the positions and impact in its activities. With every one of these variables set up, its conceivable to decide and make an examination between the budgetary and business chance (Pinto, 2006). Quality investigation Nature of activity is combined with the organization itself before rating the organization. It is critical to have a point by point examination of any working danger of the guarantor which includes its inward and the outer business condition. At that point there is examination to assess the budgetary hazard included. Evaluating the monetary dangers would assist with keeping the capability of the firm to reimburse the profundities. Industry An industry wherein the backer is dynamic decides the outer factors where the business can be effective, or it can neglect to act in. This gives the credit a stage wherein it can survey the business subjectively. The rating mulls over the method of the organization cycle and its instability as it an instrument for the drawn out appraisal of the capacities to reimburse the advance or obligations included. For this situation, the degree of capital power and seriousness make the basic business condition; It impacts the rating since in many situations these components impacts on the income inside the firm and the auspicious obligation reimbursement (Pinto, 2006). To show up at a rating, a genuine business profiling is directed which include top to bottom investigation of the accounts and the business itself; this profile is related to the hazard in the specific business. In the event that an organization works in a moderately dangerous industry there a chance of somewhat lower rating independent its of the monetary presentation (Pinto, 2006). To contextual investigation on the business, an oilfield administration organization is thought of. The business includes the organizations that drill, give oil administrations and gas investigation. These organizations do endure whenever done profile don't bring about money related hazard, however in the event that it is there its in low level, yet rather, they have the business chance. Its portrayed by the organizations being profoundly specific in this way constrained item are offered, the hazard they are engaged with are difficult to stay away from, the dangers are spillages, defilements, natural dangers and political hazard. There is no boundary to passages posting probability of hardened rivalry among other basic variables. The business chance evaluation; the size of the rating would have the option to advise in the event that it will have the option to withstand the oil value that is amazingly unpredictable. In these feeds of activities, the economies of scale matter a great deal since for the business with enormous sizes are not fundamentally influenced by the evolving costs. Different elements that are utilized incorporate; working proficiency which includes the expense of activity and the impact due to the ever-evolving costs, capital force, sovereign administration, and the corporate administration. Other significant elements considered are legally binding position, expansion in clients, ecological elements and workforce undertaking (Pinto, 2006). In the rating, the money related and the business chance are mixed to think of the best evaluating. In most case, in such an industry the business dangers are more than the monetary hazard. Be that as it may, at some low degree of rating the monetary hazard outweigh everything else to natural elements. The situation in the market Market position by and large may supersede if the business that works in profoundly serious condition which happen while surveying the business. The basic elements to be considered incorporate, the capacity to impact or keeps up costs in the market, for clients who are vital and the items are differentiated, in the event that there is intensity in the market or more all to what the business piece of the overall industry (Pinto, 2006). Mulling over business size possibly is just useful in rating if the size has an impact on the income with respect to cost, activity proficiency, and the economies of scale which principally experienced in oil industry clarified previously. Market position is, along these lines, significant in measuring the capacity to adapt to changes or interruption factor impacting its reality. On the off chance that a business is a predominant business in a specific situation, it implies that the firm can without much of a stretch convey its activities yet at the same time figure out how to pay its obligations commitments inside time. This is on the grounds that such business has a wide client base so they can include great returns inside a brief period. Surveying based fund would give high outcomes result. Business the board The manner in which business is overseen incredibly decides the financial soundness. The expert would consider the administration aptitudes in their evaluations. Great administrative aptitudes to business have numerous advantages to the accomplishment of the firm. Nonetheless, in rating the executives, it is assessed in more far reaching point of view something beyond operational achievement. The resilience is a basic determinant. Resistance in business oversee is the capacity to support the business running in spite of different elements that may prevent smooth business activity. Variables that would rate the organization incorporate keeping up showcase positions with a settled administrations track record, the drawn out budgetary execution of the endeavor, having set up effective working framework structure the premise of subjective examination if the rating. Rating base on the executives further thinks about the accompanying. The organization approach, foundation of arrangements ought to be in accordance with the goal of the business. These ought to specify the money related dangers that are included and incase the do exist, the fitting approaches to alleviate them. An examiner would specific focus on the monetary hazard polices make

Augusta Webster and the Universal Poet - Literature Essay Samples

In the essay â€Å"Poets and Personal Pronouns, Augusta Webster discusses the amount of personal expression that a poet inserts into his or her own work. She delves into the differences between a novelist and poet and elaborates on the importance of creative imagination; she even analyzes a poet’s usage of personal pronouns and what each pronoun may indicate to the reader. Throughout the essay, she constantly asserts the importance of realizing that an individual poet is separate from the self he presents in his own work. To open the essay, Webster begins with a comparison of a novelist and poet. A novelist, she asserts, must not follow the same rules as a poet. From a novelist, we expect â€Å"a definiteness and possibility for each personage, a suitability of conduct and language, and sentiment, to the epoch and theatre of events chosen, which shall make the story read as true† (Webster, â€Å"Poets and Personal Pronouns†). When perusing a novel, the reader expects that all events are plausible. The reader is meant to believe the events in the story as true in order to fully immerse himself in the novel. As Webster shortly after points out, this is very unlike the purpose of a poet. Webster asserts that we expect very different things from a poet. We ask of a poet â€Å"that his personages shall not be sharply definite, shall not even in drama be definite with the minute definiteness of the novel, while it shall seem impossible for them not to be, or to be other than they are; and we ask a suitability not so much to a given epoch and theatre as to always and everywhere, not matter under what disguise of date and story† (Webster, â€Å"Poets and Personal Pronouns†). It is much more important for the poet to assert the universality of his work; his characters and emotions should not be limited to a singular person. It is the purpose of the poet to be relatable through time and different circumstances. However, this is not to say that the poet cannot draw from past experiences or people. Webster further explains of the poet, â€Å"He need not, of course, create in the sense that the personage or the events he is interpreting shall not have pre-existed in fact or fiction; on the contrary, the highest powers of creative imagination have usually found their fittest exercise in intensified pourtrayal of the men and women and events of history or legends and tales† (Webster, â€Å"Poets and Personal Pronouns†). The poet must develop a subtler skill than creating from with the â€Å"limitlessness of free invention†. Webster describes this skill: â€Å"The poet creates as a sculptor does; he need not make the stone as well as the statue. His function is not, like the novelist’s, to devise new stories, but to make old stories new† (Webster, â€Å"Poets and Personal Pronouns†). However, the men and women that the poet portrays must not simply be an imitation of those people he knows in reality; they must be born from his own creative imagination. While the poet certainly should draw from past experiences, it would not be suiting if the poet drew on a very specific person or even very specific event. The whole singularity of a poet is to be universal and to allow the reader to experience the events and emotions in the same way that he would himself. As Webster states: Nobody wants the poet so to draw characters that each shall seem the presentment of some special person known in the flesh; that is an aim to be let to the novelist†¦. We look to the poet for feelings, thoughts, actions if need be, represented in a way which shall affect us as the manifest expression of what our very selves must have felt and thought and done if we had been those he puts before us and in their cases. (Webster, â€Å"Poets and Personal Pronouns†) It is the purpose of the poet to incite the reader to imagine their own actions and emotions in similar circumstances; even further, the poet should evoke in the reader what no actual circumstance could even evoke. Poets should evoke murderers out of incapacitated, temperate readers; they should arouse blissful love in the most stone-hearted; they should allow the reader to experience cultures outside of their own, as if they themselves grew up in such an environment. However, this very embodiment of emotions and circumstances trigger many misconceptions about the origination of a poet’s work. Since the poet’s work often evokes such strong emotions in the reader and paints such vivid scenarios, it is difficult for the reader to believe that these poems are not in fact based in some reality. Webster states, â€Å"And yet, with the very nature of the poet’s delineation to show that he cannot effect it in reference to individual models, it is the poet especially whom the general public are wont to assume to have filled his canvases with direct studies from living lay figures† (Webster, â€Å"Poets and Personal Pronouns†). If the poet inserts a girl character into his poem, then the reader assumes that it must be based on a girl that he knows in reality; if a poem mentions a grandmother, then the reader considers whether it the character was based on the poet’s paternal or maternal grandmother. The reader constantly tries to make connections between the poet’s work and everyday life, even in the most ludicrous ways. Personal descriptio ns can even be stretched to accommodate almost anyone; the brown-haired girl in the poem must represent the brown-haired girl that neighbors the poet, and so on. However common it may be for the readers to find the poet’s acquaintances in his work, it is even more common for readers to look for the poet himself. The readers are often misguided with the idea that a poet’s work represents the poet. Webster states, â€Å"But more especially still is the poet believed to be his own lay figure. He is taken as offering his readers the presentment of himself, his hopes, his loves, his sorrows, his guilts and remorses, his history and psychology generally† (Webster, â€Å"Poets and Personal Pronouns†). The poet is believed to be an embodiment of his poems; the reader does not understand that in order to fully appreciate the universality of the poem, it must be removed from the author. Or rather, the reader must allow the poet to remove himself from his work. Some readers even go so far as to hold the poet true to the opinions stated in his work, even though they are not meant to be a profession of his own beliefs. Webster verbalizes an example, â€Å"Some people so thoroughly believe this to be the proper view of the poet’s position towards the public that they will despise a man as a hypocrite because, after having written and printed, ‘I am the bridegroom of Despair,’ or some such unsociable sentiment, he goes out to dinners and behaves like anybody else† (Webster, Poets and Personal Pronouns†). Readers seem to want to hold the poet true to every belief, emotion, experience, or idea that he expresses in his work; as the poet is meant to be a medium for all emotions and experiences, this would be quite overwhelming. It is in fact a very good thing that poets do not feel or experience all that they write. Webster explains: One even hears it adduced as a fault in the moral character of poets generally that they do not feel all they write – meaning that they do not feel it in their own persons, part of their own experience. It is heartily hoped of most of them that they do not. Turn over the pages of any dozen poets now living, mean and women, and take all their utterance for their own in their own persons; suppose the first personal pronoun not artistically vicarious but standing for the writer’s substantive self; what an appalling dozen of persons! (Webster, â€Å"Poets and Personal Pronouns†) The first personal pronoun represents a multitude of persons; it is not a direct indication of the poet himself. The pronoun â€Å"I† in a poem is universal. As Webster incredulously points out, imagine the many love affairs that a poet might have had if the â€Å"I† always meant himself. In fact, the poet’s existence would simply be one tragic or euphoric emotion after another; they would exist simply as a multitude of beings, not truly living. Webster asserts, â€Å"We have only to try to imagine what, if I meant I, must be the mental state of these writers of many emotions, to see, in the fact of their being able to correct their proofs and get their books through press, consoling evidence that, as a rule, I does not mean I† (Webster, â€Å"Poets and Personal Pronouns†). It should be generally assumed, then, when reading a poem that when the poet employs the first personal pronoun, that he does not mean to indicate himself. However, there are, as always, exceptions to the rule, as Webster enumerates. The exception to the rule is found in confessional poetry. There are times when poets do express their own emotions and personality through their work. However, even in supposedly confession poetry, it is not always real. Many times the poet has only adopted these emotions when the poem was introduced to the public; or, the poet could have written the poem beforehand and only allowed it to be published when it seemed appropriate. For example, a tragic elegy could have been withheld from the printers until a sufficient death would render the poem plausible. Some poets tend to adopt the personality that they project. Webster remarks, â€Å"Byron’s most Byronic heroes were certainly less a portrait of him than he of them; he made them and then he imitated them. Where a poet falls into the popular fallacy and takes it that the public have a right to form a theory of his life from his writings and to expect him to be consistent to it, he is quite likely to become, with conscious h ypocrisy a claimant to virtues which are too hard for him†¦Ã¢â‚¬ (Webster, â€Å"Poets and Personal Pronouns). Some poets feel that they must fulfill some pubic duty to project his work in everyday life, and be consistent in what he writes. Thus, he knowingly becomes an embodiment of his work, furthering the idea that a poet is inseparable from his writings. It is especially difficult for the public to separate a poet from his work due to the frequent employment of personal pronouns. As stated earlier, I does not mean I. But this is commonly misunderstood. If the poet attempted to alter his pronoun usage to a more general figure such as â€Å"we† or â€Å"one†, the impact of the poem would be changed and further misunderstandings could occur. The â€Å"I† in a poem is an indicator of self, not of the poet, and to reduce that to a more general, less impactful â€Å"we† or â€Å"one† would be a disservice to the poem itself. Still, Webster recommends: â€Å"On the whole the editorial pronoun, the â€Å"We† and the â€Å"Our† and the â€Å"Us,† is what can most safely be recommended to poets for their future protection†. (Webster, â€Å"Poets and Personal Pronouns†). And while her recommendation it true, that poets could safely use the alternative pronouns and safe from t he danger of invoking themselves, it is also important that poets remember that their work is meant to invoke bold, unabashed emotions, to allow readers to experience things they could not in their own physical bodies, and to be universal. Webster’s essay â€Å"Poets and Personal Pronouns† goes into depth about the portrayal of a poet in his own work, the public’s interpretation of a poet’s work and of the poet himself, and what this all indicates about poet’s purpose. The poet himself is not an embodiment of his work; vice versa, a poet’s work is not a representation of a poet’s own values, beliefs, emotions, experiences, and so on. A poet is meant to be a medium through which all feelings, thoughts, and ideas can flow through and manifest themselves beautifully and precisely on the page. This is the main element of a poet: his own universality.

The Forge by Seamus Heaney - 1087 Words

Notes on ‘A Call’ by Seamus Heaney * The word ‘call’ has both everyday and special associations. In this poem ‘call’ contains both casual and serious meanings. The call here is the phone call home but the speaker also meditates on the idea of a person being called home to God as in the medieval play ‘Everyman’. * The opening of the poem,it could be argued, isn’t poetry,it is ordinary, everyday speech. And yet the arrangement of the lines on the page and the overall rhythm create a musical flow. * Following this opening section the poem shifts to a silent description of the speaker imagining his father at work in the kitchen garden. The four simple monosyllabic words in line four, ’So I saw him’ lead us into a detailed†¦show more content†¦It is an evocative opening. The word â€Å"dark† has many negative and mysterious connotations; the placement of such a powerful word behind a door which promises to be opened attests to Heaney’s ability to subtly evoke resonance. * Not only has Heaney constructed the shape and the visual setting of an anvil, but he has also re-imagined the smells, sounds and tactile impressions of the experience inside a blacksmith’s shop. The shop is the â€Å"dark† of the first line; it is also a place that is no longer necessary for modern life: for instance, we no longer depend on horses’ hooves or wrought-iron nails. â€Å"Dark,† then, could refer to the unreachable past as well as the blackness of the anvil, the iron, an d the soot of the shop. * Heaney chose to use the first person pronoun â€Å"I† in the first line, although the central character in the poem is only referred to as â€Å"he.† Easily, the reference in the first line could also have been â€Å"he,† which would have tied the poem together tightly. However, Heaney has consciously created a second character, an observer to the blacksmith; the reader is fully aware that there is one character here, observing another. In addition the store manager should have carried out a self-evaluation to identify own weaknesses, and ways to manage any stress related situations. Lastly the store manager should have taken full responsibility or ownership of the situation that increased employee job security and confidence in work (Armstrong, 2013). 4. The relationship of the store manager behaviour and employees morale is a negative one. It is characterized with lack of emotion control, dominance with one party, lack of confidence; blame game, lack of cooperation, uncertainty and tensions at work. Negative relationship in working environment is stated to be one of the recipes to failure and good working performance (Ramsdal 2016). The relationship within the institution has resulted to employee wanting to leave the organization, departmental managers setting unrealizable sales targets to sales persons. These affect relationship between parties they become disrespectful and non-cooperative. There is rising tensions and job security uncertainty. From the case extract two examples of misinterpretation of behaviour manifested by the workforce include; lack of cultural misunderstanding, ignorance and communication, and lack of awareness of different societal lifestyles practices (Ramsdal 2016). The woman employee and the other employees were unable to understand the different societal lifestyles practices between them. Such misinterpretation of behaviour result to confusion, misunderstanding, and conflict among the employees. The cultural differential behaviors among employees was not interpreted and communicated to them, this lead to the current situation in which the workforce were ignorant and insensitive to each other. They need to tolerate each other. 6. The employee who brought the complaint need to be explained the need of knowing the different cultures, and how they influence work relationships and practices, work need to understand how diverse relationship can be developed and encouraged by recognizing each other behaviors, beliefs, and practices and respecting them. Other expectations among employees are the need to have a creative cultural communication mechanism that will serve the purpose of dealing with misunderstanding and conflicts resulting from workforce cultural diversity. They need to have a multicultural collaboration mechanism that will help them work harmoniously and reduce conflicts (Sue Rasheed 2015). 7. Cultural expression is important in management of cultural diversity in working environment. It can be developed by avoiding any kind of misjudgments, learning to listen and tolerating others, accepting and appreciating other cultural differentials, and taking a leading role in mentoring and empowering individuals to participate in cultural events and functions. Cultural communication is important in ensuring each working employee is working together and understanding each other cultures, beliefs, and practices (Matsumoto and Hwang 2016). Cultural communication can be promoted by employees by overcoming language barriers, setting a common interest working environment, and meeting employee communication needs from different cultures. 8. There is need to understand how the employee feels by adopting some of the principles of emotional intelligence (Brett et al, 2016). Example of the principles of emotional intelligence to adopt include: self-awareness, self-control, empathy, and conflict management. I will practice self-control by managing emotions when addressing the matter. I will meet with employee and practice empathy to understand how the employee feels and opinions towards trainings and team building sessions, and reasons why the employee is against such events and sessions. Through conflict management resolutions skills we will be able to identify the best solutions to the given problem. 9. It is critical to understand the learning, personality and communication styles to be able to deal with the employee. The employee prefers to learn alone in solitary, do not like sharing ideas, and is an introvert does not enjoy company of the others. It is then important to combine the three styles and principle of emotion known as empathy. Using empathy one will be able to understand what the employee feels, reasons, and own fears. Better ways can be employed to integrate the employee to accept the trainings and integrate with others via team building initiatives (Nguyen et al, 2016). 10. In ensuring a balance of own emotional, team and performance needs are met a comprehensive approach involving some of the principles of emotion intelligence will be employed. In addressing the matter self-control will be the basis of all judgments and resolutions. Explanation to the employee will be done on the role the importance of working in cohesiveness, and motivating employee (Delahaij, van Dam, 2016). Integration of employee to consultative programs will encourage participation and increase performance needs to the organization. The employee can be given position as group/ team leaders or given tasks to present during such events or occasions. 11. The employee emotional, development and team performance needs can be enhanced through a contextual mechanism. Through empathy, it will be possible to identify employees reasons against trainings and team building sessions, and provide additional avenues that the employee prefers. Explaining to the employee is necessary regarding the importance of trainings and need of engaging with others in teambuilding activities. Other way of promoting performance needs is to engage the employee to tasks, and encouraging leadership roles. Understanding the employee will motivate the employee to think he is important and accepted by the organization and other employees (Gagn and Howard, 2016). 12. There is close relationship between emotional effective pressure and achievement of business objectives. Emotional effective people are characterized with self-motivation, confident, love work, set and achieve realistic targets. It is necessary for management of Wollongong hardware to set realistic sales performance to employees but make sure they are emotionally motivated to make them effective. Ahuja (2016) state that employees can effectively be motivated through number of contextual factors which include; instituting employee welfare programs that cover health, safety and wellbeing. In addition they need to engage employees in a consultative manner in order to tap the strength of the employees 13. Direct consideration of employee emotion can lead to better decision making in achieving intended business objectives. Better decision making is a consciously activity that require a sound mind in order to be able to choose the best alternatives or solutions. Sales targets can be achieved if only better decisions are made with positive emotionally workforce. A positive emotional person can easily make justifiable decisions that lead to accomplishment of intended objectives (Krishnakumar et al 2016). Creation of a conducive, non-pressure and good working environment can be useful in setting a well emotional stability conducive for employees to make effective decisions. 14. The decision making process should be emotional process involving every of organization members. The process of decision making will involve top management identifying the problem facing sales drop followed by an evaluation of solutions to address it. The top management will be required to set and agree on the required particular sales performance targets with its sales force. In addition they will provide any exclusions and inclusions from various functions. All members will expected to participate in implementation process by meeting required sales targets. The last stage required all members to monitor, and communicate their performance (Kanbur Ronconi, 2016). 15. The management of employee emotional needs and work performance requires addressing a number of contextual factors which include: the code of ethics both external and internal governing employee profession, work place safety and health acts, organizational policies on management of human resources, employee procedures manuals, national acts on management of employees, and other existing welfare programs for employees. Analysis Essay Example

Analysis Essay ExampleAn analysis essay is the perfect way to show the essay to a tutor or grader. It takes all the guesswork out of it, so you can focus on how to do it right. With an analysis essay, you will not be writing an essay; you will be analyzing one. The grader or tutor will be reading your essay and will critique it in a variety of ways. The first type of critique is an opinion, such as 'I don't know if this thesis statement should be turned into a paragraph.' You can respond by writing a paragraph, answering the question in that way. After the grader is done reading your analysis, he or she will be able to see whether the answer you gave was a good one or not. A solid opinion is important, because if the grader doesn't think it is, he or she can use the critique as a means of changing it.Another type of critique is simply a bad argument. If you are using an example, you must keep the example as close to its original form as possible. Don't take it out of context. Only if the example cannot be followed back to its original form does it become a critique.A critique can also be as simple as making a point about the example without putting into context where you are actually writing an essay. This point may sound silly, but it's a point that could possibly change the analysis. Keep in mind, however, that this can also turn into a bad argument.Another type of bad argument is an argument that relies on false or misleading assumptions. For example, an argument from authority can work, but only if the authority's statements are true. If they are false, then your argument becomes false. However, if the author of the essay is completely correct, then your arguments are not valid. The most difficult type of critique is the one that you have to deal with as the author of the analysis essay. However, there are things you can do to help minimize these types of critiques. First, keep in mind that what the essay says is what you must prove. For this reason, make sur e your statements are 100% correct.Secondly, always avoid giving the reader points for the critical reviews you give. These types of comments, while meaningful to the reader, can undermine your entire argument. Also, do not attempt to prove your points when the grader is present. Finally, do not give up on your analysis essay before it has even begun. You can use the analysis as a guide, but never to the point of a thesis statement. Keep your analysis brief, and leave room for the grader to make their own comments on it.
